The school was a winner amongst 27 other schools worlwide.The award was presented at creating a conducive learning environment facilitating students to build a healthy planet and future for their communities.

Bronze Award in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad

Prabhnoor Singh of XII A1 from SD Public School has been awarded with a bronze certificate for his high score in International Biology Olympiad organized by Royal Society of Biology London on 5th June. About 8000 students from all over the world participated in this online examination. Total 18 students participated in this online exam from XI A1 and XIIA1 of our school, all the them have participation certificate along with the one year of free bionet membership of the Royal Society of Biology.

ICT Conclave at Welham’s Boys School, Dehradun

Md. Arham and Yash Patodia of class XII participated in ICT Conclave at Welham’s boys' school, Dehradun. Students used Microsoft Tools to work on their project. Md. Arham Was awarded 1st prize in rapid fire round in quiz.

ONENOTE CLASSNOTEBOOK: AN ONLINE TOOL FOR COLLABORATION: DIGITILIZATION IS THE FIRST STEP IN BEING GLOBAL

OneNote Class Notebooks has personal workspace for every student, a content library for handouts, and a collaboration space for lessons and creative activities. Students of VIII C collaborated with each other and teachers using this tool and learnt various concepts in real time. Students get instant feedback from their teachers and improve their work.

LWL-POC (OFFICE 365 Productivity Tools in the Classroom)

Learning Without Limits - Proof of Concept (15 Nov 2016 -15 Dec 2016). This programme has brought a better understanding of 1:1 Learning in our classrooms. Under this one-month programme both teachers and students were trained to use Microsoft Tools. “What we learn with pleasure we never forget” this is truly achieved after going through this technology-based learning as our students made presentations, quizzes and even participated in formative assessments using these tools.

KODU LEARNING

Children are filled with ideas. They often surprise us with the things they do with what we give them. Microsoft and Tech One Learning are going to tap this unlimited source of creativity using the most innovative playground — Kodu, a game creation software to bring a child’s creativity to its full potential. Our students were trained on Kodu software and used their creativity to build new games. It also helped them to enhance their problem-solving ability.

International Womens Day: An interaction with Arianne Jones (A Luger from Canada)

Students of class IX had an interaction with Arianne Jones along with the students of Australia. She is a Canadian luger. She placed 13th overall in the 2014 Olympic Games, with other outstanding achievements including her first bronze medal in the 2014 Calgary Luge World Cup and a gold medal in the Team Relay portion of 2016 Winterberg Luge World Cup in Germany. She shared her story of hard work and resilience that pushed past barriers that might normally hinder her ability to compete. Our students were highly motivated by her words of wisdom.

SWAY DAY : An amalgam of all the learning outcomes that polished our students to be role models of society

Sway Day was celebrated in SDPS in which 12 schools from Delhi participated. Students used their creativity to make a presentation on given topic using sway as a tool after hearing the stories of success from the mouth of our students.

TECHNOLOGY MOVEMENT IN SDPS

Technology has the ability to enhance relationships between teachers and students. When teachers effectively integrate technology into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful. In this regard new budding teachers from DU and IP university were trained for new Microsoft technology like OneNote, sway, office mix in SDPS. Children often struggle to stay on task or interested, and with resources to help the teacher, they can better stay focused and learn faster.

A MYSTERY SKYPE QUIZ ON MEDICINAL HERBS WITH THE STUDENTS OF AUSTRALIA

The healing comes from nature: Our students participated in a skype event with students of Australia. Both sides, students had shown specimen of a herb with some clues. The other team guessed the name of that particular herb. This activity enhanced the knowledge of students of both the countries and thus helped in studying the nature as well.

SKYPE SESSION WITH THE STUDENTS OF UKRAINE

Students of SDPS shared their cultural diversity with the students of Ukraine. Ukraine is a multi-ethnic, multi- language and multi-culture country like ours. It was an enriching experience for the students. National anthem sung by the students of both the countries in the end and respected each other’s patriotic sentiments.

Stay Close to Nature with Pakistan

SDPS Students were enlightened by the words of Ms. Alishba Javaid from Roots Millenium School, Pakistan. She shared her knowledge on Medicinal Herbs and how they can be useful in treatment of common ailments. Our students also discussed the common herbs they use in their day-to-day life.

GETTING TO KNOW VIETNAM

The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people. Vietnam people are a special mix of cultures, languages and historical backgrounds. Our students were enriched with their cultural diversity by Ms. Thuy Nguyen. Students also shown some yoga steps to her. She highly appreciated the performance of our students.

TRAINING ON MS-TOOLS TO DU STUDENTS

A Microsoft workshop was conducted for the students of meta college, Delhi University to make them familiarize with latest technology in teaching learning process. This would help in building a dedicated and well-equipped new generation of educators.

CELEBRATED WORLD LITERACY MONTH

Cultivating World Literacy takes students and teachers through a journey of focusing first on themselves and the issues of literacy at their local level, then moving beyond themselves in order to gain a perspective on the importance of literacy in the world outside them, and finally arriving at the ultimate challenge of becoming agents of change. GLOBAL EDUCATION EXCHANGE PROGRAMME E2-SINGAPORE VISIT

Two educators Ms. Anamika Jha and Ms. Mukta Lal were selected for Global Educator meet held in Singapore March 2017. More than 300 educators across the world participated and collaborated to learn new tools which can be used in classrooms for innovative teaching A lot of learning happened and cross border exchanges took place which has provided lot of scope to improve classroom situations.

VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP OF AUSTRALIA

The National Gallery of Victoria, popularly known as the NGV, is an art museum in Melbourne, Australia. Founded in 1861, it is Australia oldest, largest and most visited art museum. Today students of Class VII virtually visited NGV through Skype and were excited to see it live. Thanks to Mr. Daniel for this memorable visit.

GLOBAL CONNECTION ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY...BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION

World Environment Day is a day of everyone around the world to take ownership of their environment and to actively engage in the protection of our earth. With “Beat Plastic Pollution” as the theme for this year’s edition, the world is coming together to combat single-use plastic pollution. In this process students of SDPS, CLASS IX had an amazing s skype session with Manuela Correia from Portugal. She discussed the seriousness of this problem and shared some tips to avoid the usage of plastics in daily life. Thanks to technology that helped students connecting worldwide.

VIRTUAL REALITY IS LIKE DREAMING WITH OPEN EYES.WOW!

Books allow us to imagine it, and movies allow us to see it, but Virtual Reality is the first medium that actually allows us to experience it. Virtual reality stimulates realistic images, sounds and other sensations that simulate user's physical presence in a virtual environment. Thanks to Pekka Ouli from FINLAND. He demonstrated real world in virtual environment to the students of class VIII.

SKYPEATHON 2018: GLOBAL EVENT

Our school has participated in Skype-a-thon Event organized by Microsoft on 13-14 November 2018. During the event, students travelled more than 4.5 million miles and virtually visited 37 countries in 55 sessions.They learned about culture, time zones, geographical locations, monuments, languages of various countries through stories, guest speakers, collaboration and students around the world. This year, we also invited children from an NGO, Navjyoti Foundation. These children shared their yoga skills and dance skills in other countries. Students today are more of a global community than ever before. The walls of the classroom have expanded to connect them with cultures and environments. It has opened their hearts and mind to become energized and engaged global citizens.

EDU DAYS EVENT BY MICROSOFT IN GURGAON ON 4-5 DECEMBER

The objective of event was to share innovative teaching learning framework and expose the educators to state of art learning and innovation practices in education. Many futuristic technologies were shared which will drive the change and demonstrate excellence in practice by bringing in voices from the field.

THIRD POSITION IN NATIONAL LEVEL MINECRAFT CHALLENGE COMPETITION

A team of four students Priyanshu Gupta, Raghav Garg, Ankit Jha and Deepanshu Vats from Class X were selected among Top 10 Teams across India. On December 4th, 2018 top ten teams of students from all over India showcased their work on Minecraft and innovation with technology. Our students created a world on theme Climate Action to create awareness among students in a gaming way. It was an honour to be selected among top three at National Level.

SHARING ICT PROGRAMMES DURING MALAYSIAN DELEGATES VISIT

Around 30 Malaysian Educationists visited our school on 4th February 2019.The objective behind the tour was to exchange learning skills and innovation practices using Technology. Various Microsoft tools like Sway,Skype,Onenote,Kahoot,Forms were discussed and their utility in the class-room.They were inspired to see the assessments systems adopted by the school. Educosoft is an online portal for assessment which provide self-learning and provide instant feedback.

SKYPE INTERACTION DURING MALAYSIAN DELEGATES VISIT

During the visit to S.D PUBLIC SCHOOL PITAM PURA for an educational visit, 30 Malaysian Delegates from various schools of Kedah, North Malaysia interacted with Educators from Russia Anna Zubkovskaya and Malaysia Fad zillah M Osman and shared some ideas on the use of skype in the classroom for better learning of students.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS

Principal of school, Ms. Anita Sharma was invited to participate in 6th Asia pacific School Leadership Programme held in South Korea in which various innovative ways for school development and sustainable goals were discussed. Dilkhush and Rishabh Pandey of Class VII C bagged Ist Position in Minecraft Competition held at Gyan mandir school. It was an online event. Students made Minecraft project on the theme Life on Land (SDG-15)

As citizens of the world, students in today's classrooms seek global contexts for learning. In SDPS, with a focus on international standards of instructions, globally minded programs inspire students to be curious. These pathways lead to the development of cultural literacy by allowing students to examine issues of global significance through interconnected sharing of experience and exchange of ideas.

INTRODUCTION TO CLOUD LEARNING IN EDUCATION

To give exposure to new innovative ideas in technology, teachers of SDPS were trained for O365 usage.They learnt about accessing and editing Microsoft Office Files and introduced about Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams has unique features for team work.Homework,assignments and worksheets can be shared with students as per their need anytime. They were introduced about Microsoft Educator Community which is a Global Platform for educators to share resources.

MERGE CUBE : A PLATFORM FOR LEARNING VIRTUAL REALITY

The Merge Cube is a compelling little device packed with a tremendous amount of instructional potential. It can revolutionize science curriculum by allowing students to have their hands on an actual beating heart or look inside a functioning human system. It can transport social studies students from merely exploring a map to holding a hologlobe in the palms of their hands. It was an amazing experience to teach students using merge cube. Annual Edu-Day event in Westin, Gurgaon by Microsoft India

Microsoft India organized an annual event EDU DAYS-2019 on 19th & 20th November, 2019 in Westin, Gurgaon. Our four teachers Ms. Anamika Jha, Ms. Mukta Lal, Ms. Gitanjli Goyal and Ms. Vandana Gupta were selected for this event and took part as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and collaborated with other MIEEs from all over INDIA. We were winners in two different collaborated projects and highest self-investment award.

FLIPGRID-A VIDEO BASED PLATFORM FOR SHARING

In education, student voice refers to the values, opinions, beliefs, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students in a school. It describes how students provide their input on what happens within the school and classroom. Our desire is for students to know that their expertise, opinions, and ideas are valued in all aspects of school life. One way that student voice can be shared in the classroom is Flip grid. The app extends the web-based environment and creates new possibilities for reflection, discussion, demonstration, and collaboration.

CORONA VIRUS outbreak has been declared a pandemic in many parts of India. This invoked educational institutions and many commercial establishments to shut down. Keeping the same perspective in mind S D Public School, Pitampura has started taking online assessments for the primary classes. Children from Grade 1 to Grade 5 along with their parents have signed up in Microsoft Teams App. Parents were invited to the school and were assisted for signing up in the Microsoft Teams App and a workshop was given on how children will attempt their Term end assessment online and create Flip grid videos as a part of their Annual Assessment which were skipped due to preventive measures taken by Delhi Government due to the Corona virus. Facilitators were given appropriate training on how to create question paper using Microsoft Forms. This also helped teachers to generate report cards and assess children online. Our efforts are appreciated by all Govt. nominees appointed by Directorate of Education in our school.

LET'S BEAT COVID-19 BY REMOTE LEARNING

With schools being locked down due to COVID-19, educators across the country are moving to virtual classes on Microsoft Teams to ensure learning never stops. Teams not only enables teachers and students to connect over video-enabled remote classrooms but also provides a host of interactive and collaborative tools on a single platform. We at SDPS, the entire faculty is involved and working hard to provide learning experiences without coming to school. They have created lesson plans, videos, presentations for the students and shared while taking classes. Global learning Connections: Another year of Excitement for Learning 2020

Hundreds of thousands of students, teachers and guest speakers in over 110 countries connected and in 48 hours they traveled around the world via Teams, Skype and Flipgrid. Together we celebrated the power of global learning, shared about cultures and environments near and far, as well as fostered empathy and compassion for one another and our planet. It was amazing! Sdpsians also participated enthusiastically and connected with more than 20 countries and shared information about cultures,languages,played mystery skype and animal.

Sharing Festivals

Festivals are the periods of celebration and an important part of Indian culture. They are a tool to bring life to a state of exuberance and enthusiasm. India is undoubtedly one of the most colourful and eclectic countries in the world. In the light of festivities, students shared about Indian festivals with the students of Russia.

VIRTUAL YOUTH CLIMATE MINI-SUMMIT INDIA-USA

S.D. Public School, Pitampura had the distinct honor of participating in an online climate change conversation with NOVA from U.S This gathering was the first in a series of Virtual Youth Climate Mini-Summits that will occur this year as part of an ongoing collaboration between the schools. Students from Lara Tukarski's science classes met with students from Ms. Anamika Jha's science classes to learn about climate science and ways of getting involved in the global movement to advocate for our planet.

The evening began with a climate change presentation by Dr. Barak Gale from the Climate Reality Project. The students then met in small group breakout rooms to discuss the common thread of climate change impact in their respective communities. The opportunity for connection with peers in different places and from different experiences was powerful, and deeply appreciated by everyone in attendance.

LEARNING BEYOND TEXTBOOKS

Students got the opportunity to learn about various foods of Russia from Anna. This activity helped them to extend their knowledge about food beyond Indian traditional foods.

LEARNING ENGLISH AND SHARING CULTURE WITH PUERTO RICO

Amazing collaboration with the students from Puerto Rico as a part of English Week. They also shared about their culture and traditions.

Learning is always a fun when it become global. Students learnt about geographical location of Poland, their language and important places.
